Protest Song - The ZIRP Song

The ZIRP Song

Mark Snyder, 2011

Let me tell you 'bout the Fed machine
Zero interest for the banks
So they can charge you usury
Fed don't check the bankers credit score
That's only there for you and me
So they can gouge us even more

Yeah they they love their zero interest policy

You see with Uncle Ben and his printing press
Turbo Tim and his bailout chest They pour it out
But it don't get to you
And every new solution is just more debt
One less strand in the safety net
Too big to fail
Took that away from you

Ever wonder where that money went
Its not in the economy
Or anywhere that you can spend
No those bankers they just speculate
The money's in the price of gas
The price of food there on your plate

Yeah they they love their zero interest policy

It don't get to you, it don't get to you They pour it out, but it don't get to you

Protest Song - We Will be Free

An anthem for direct democracy and freedom from political/economic slavery.

How you wield the power of centuries
Of the privilege borne of wealth and ease
Of the booty carried on backs of slaves
Of the soldiers fist and policeman's gaze
But rising through the crowd so boldly
Are voices you cannot ignore

(Chorus)
Hear our song
We will be free
We will stop for nothing less
Than real democracy
Kill or jail us But you will see
You will only make us strong
We will arise
And we will be free

Now your easy money - your greed and fear
Drove the oil and wheat into the stratosphere
But the least among us still have to pay
There's a breaking point and it came today

But rising through the crowd so boldly
Are voices you cannot ignore

(Chorus)

Protest Song - There is Hope

This was written to highlight that, while things might look grim, if we are willing to leave preconceptions and entitlements behind, we can grasp a future of hope.

There is hope beyond the window pane
This feed says I should read today
I know there is hope

There is hope beyond the zealot’s wars
And gunfire at the strongmen’s doors
I know there is hope

(Chorus)

There is hope beyond the darkness
There is hope in morning’s light
There is hope if we will leave our preconceptions far behind

There is hope beyond the best laid plans
That only  follow mom’s and dad’s
I know there is hope

There is hope beyond the blind pursuit
Of fatter gains and banker suits
 I know there is hope

(Chorus)

If we learn there is more to this than our lives
If we learn what we can give in love
If we learn there are times to lay down our rights
There is hope

There is hope beyond success defined
As gated homes and finer wines
I know there is hope
There is hope beyond the network crowd
That only follows here and now
I know there is hope

( Chorus)

There is hope beyond the window pane
This feed says I should read today
I know there is hope,  there is hope

Protest Song - Cash Stuffed Heads

This one has a more 60's protest feel.  I will post rough guitar demo.

Cash Stuffed Heads
Words/Music,  Mark Snyder, 2010

V1)
Who can find the cronies?
You don’t have to look so hard
Just follow the money
They don’t even hide it anymore
There’s no need to fear the law of cash-stuffed heads

(Chorus)

V2)
The rich man has his credit
And the commoner his debt
And the cronies grow so bloated on legalized theft
At election-time, whose millions put them in our face?
All these cash-stuffed heads – the puppets of all our disgrace

Who can find the cronies?
Just follow the bailout trail
The ones with their hand out
Extorting  us -  since they’re  too big to fail
Fat returns are guaranteed by cash-stuffed heads

(Chorus)

V3)
Who can find the cronies?
They are there on the Right and Left
No matter what the party
They take your vote – then they give you the shaft
All we do is change the cast of cash-stuffed heads

(Chorus)

Protest Song - Globalize

First produced and released song.

Globalize
Words/Music - Mark Snyder, 2010

(Chorus)

Everybody wants the latest
Flatter screen and mega-size
We don’t wanna pay to make  ‘em
The answer is to globalize – globalize, globalize, globalize, globalize

Standing on the corner
Please employ me
Any job will do
Do you have one for me?
The factory took a dive
The retail outlets died
Our little town has tried
How will we survive?
Can we turn back time, before we globalized?

(Chorus)

Working in the sweat-shop
China’s story
Factory for the world
Make an i-thing for me
Cheaper every day
The other countries say
If you pay a living wage
We will take your trade
Can we turn back time, before we globalized?

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

For there’s only mantra –  for us to echo -  only one mantra that we must chant
Free trade is the answer – hear them all bellow –  discredited zealots just won’t recant
For there’s only mantra –  for us to echo -  only one mantra that we must chant
Free trade is the answer – hear them all bellow –  discredited zealots just won’t recant

Can we turn back time, before we globalized?

Corporate masters outsource
Padding  their numbers
Darlings of ‘the Street’
While the heartland crumbles
Paying dividends
The rally never ends
And everyone pretends
These are healthy trends
Can we turn back time, before we globalized?

(Chorus)

Protest Song - The Mighty DOW

The Mighty DOW
(Words/Music, Mark Snyder, 2010)

Lyrics
Bow before - the golden bull
Bring your bank account – it shall be full
It’s enshrined - within our soul
Can you feel the grip – of it’s control?
Can you feel the grip – of it’s control?

(Chorus)
It’s time to update your money now
It’s time to worship the mighty DOW
On every TV and every cell
The DOW will tell us that all is well
It’s time for people to speculate
It’s time to get in – you cannot wait
Time to discover your inner risk
If you don’t invest you will surely miss - the boom

 V2)
Bring your cash – borrowed will do
Hock the kitchen sink – they'll take that too
Everything – to feed the maw
Catch the upward move – of this see-saw
Catch the upward move – of this see-saw

(Chorus)

V3)
Robo-trades – on ticker screens
Swap the bits and bytes – trillions unseen
Far beyond – too big to fail
Only when it does – our pain is real
Only when it does – our pain is real

 (Chorus) X2
